I have mentioned a lot of natural solutions and treatments for lower back pain right side in my previous articles but now I will be introducing another concept that can help you find out how your condition developed and how to get support for it. This concept is called ergonomics.
Ergonomics in its simplest definition is a scientific concept on how your body reacts and is affected by various objects and equipment. This particularly refers to things that you encounter or use everyday such as computers, chairs, tables, and the like. This applies to almost all of us because whether you are working, studying, or staying at home, you are bound to use such objects and equipments. Now that you have an idea on what ergonomics is, it’s time to dig deeper and see how this concept affects your chronic condition.
Seeing that ergonomics deals with commonly used objects and equipments, it is crucial to assess yourself on how much time you spend using these things and how you use them. To better understand this, here are a couple of scenarios.
Ergonomics for Lower Back Pain Right Side Support at Home
There are bunch of things wherein ergonomics comes into play at home. A good example is when you are watching television. You might be spending countless hours watching TV so it is good to know what kind of chair you are seating on. If you are sitting on something that isn’t comfortable, this could very well lead to problems in your back. There are many options for finding support at home, you can start by checking out chairs or sofas with proper ergonomic designs so that even if you are spending countless hours watching TV, you won’t cause a big harm to your back and promotes proper posture as well.
Ergonomics for Lower Back Pain Right Side Support at the Office
This is probably the most common scenario when it comes to ergonomics simply because a lot of people do office work and spend long hours working in offices. This is absolutely fine, what’s not fine are the office equipments being used that are hurting your back as well as other parts of your body.
Most people use computers while working so it’s best to consider best ergonomics practices whenever using a computer for extended number of hours. First, take note of proper hand positioning when typing on your keyboard. Also, consider the distance of the monitor and don’t get too close to it.
As you are busy working, you might forget to take a break. This is a common practice for most workers so keep in mind that breaks play a big role if you want to support your lower back pain right side. If you’re using a computer for a long time, take a break every now and then because it isn’t good to be in one position for long periods of time as it affects your spine in a bad way. This applies to other work that puts you in a compromising position as well so do some stretches from time to time.
Lastly, one thing you should consider while working is implementing footrests. Not only does your sitting position affect your condition but foot placement does as well. This specifically applies to those who are shorter and have their legs dangling. Consider getting footrests so that your legs are elevated and there won’t be as much pressure on them.
